August update

The 2009 summer break is all too quickly coming to a close. Already plans are in the works for the 2009 Woodstock fair booths. Because of the success of the fair booths in the past few years, we have been able to fund our camperships, scholarships, and equipment donations primarily through them. Once again, we rely on the generous contribution of time and energy to make the booths a success.
            We will be making the apple crisp in the Academy kitchen on August 17th, 19th, and 20th from 6 to 9 p.m. Anyone interested in helping with this prep work should complete the section on the back of this paper and mail to the address noted or contact Michelle Plucenik (860) 377-8405 or Shelley Olm (860) 208-1749 directly.
            The schedule for the 4 days of the Woodstock fair is printed on the back. Anyone interested in signing up may fill out the form and mail to the address noted, or return to the academy as soon as possible. (there is a mailbox located in the office.) From our June mailing, we have already had a few sign ups, so please note a first and second choice of work times. There will be an additional sign up for student volunteers during the first week of school.
            We are also beginning our annual membership drive. Booster Club membership runs from October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010. Dues are $5.00 per person, with a maximum of $25.00 per family. Money from dues supplements the fair profits for camperships and scholarships, as well as going towards equipment purchased by the Booster Club. In addition, membership entitles you to 50% off admission to all Academy home games. The Booster Club meets each second Wednesday of the month during the school year from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Academy cafeteria.   We are always looking for new ideas for fundraising as well as new ways to improve the Booster Club.

The Booster Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month in the Academy dining area at 7:00 p.m.

Membership in the Booster Club shows your support and interest for the student athletes to have the best possible opportunities and equipment to excel in all sports. The Club dues cost $5 per person, not to exceed $20 per family. Membership dues are collected annually. Membership cards presented at all Woodstock Academy home games entitle you to a 50% discount on your admission fee!
