Transportation Systems: Students will understand transportation systems and the environments used to move goods and people, and the subsystems common to each.

Note: Grade level is indicated in the 4th digit in the standard number

09.0.9.0.1 Students will define technological system
09.0.9.0.2 Students will identify the parts of a system
09.0.9.0.3 Students will use a technological system
09.0.9.0.4 Students will describe the function of various systems
09.0.9.0.5 Students will describe the input, process, output, feedback (IPOF) system model
09.0.9.0.6 Students will demonstrate an IPOF system
GRADES5 thru 8
09.0.9.5.1 Students will differentiate between vehicular and stationary transportation systems
09.0.9.5.2 Students will differentiate between fixed and random-route land transportation systems
09.0.9.5.3 Students will describe and be able to identify the transportation subsystems of body / frame, propulsion, suspension, control, guidance and support in a variety of transportation devices
09.0.9.5.4 Students will explore the characteristics of lighter than air and heavier than air atmospheric transportation systems
09.0.9.5.5 Students will apply the concept of transportation subsystems while solving transportation problems
09.0.9.5.6 Students will identify and experiment with devices used to protect product and personnel in transportation systems
09.0.9.5.7 Students will explore, build and experiment with model marine, space, land and air transportation systems
GRADES9 thru 12
09.0.9.9.1 Students will identify and describe the historical innovations in the evolution of transportation systems and their impact on our society, economy and environment
09.0.9.9.2 Students will understand the principles of aerodynamics
09.0.9.9.3 Students will design, fabricate, test and evaluate a land, atmospheric, marine and space transportation system
09.0.9.9.4 Students will identify and explore solutions to future global transportation problems
09.0.9.9.5 Students will explore and experiment with traditional and alternative fuels
09.0.9.9.6 Students will describe how pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical energy are used in transportation systems
