How is color used in package design? 300 400 This unit emphasizes learning effective/efficient use of Graphics software: Illustrator and Photoshop, applying the elements of design in creating visual images, learning hand-building techniques: measuring,cutting, and pasting, learning the visual and emotional qualities of color, learning effective presentation skills, using typography, 400 learning the creative process: concept/ idea development, using effective research skills to understand their "target audience." 500 When creating a concept and design for a package, students will develop the ability to: 500 -- use modern graphics software (Illustrator and Photoshop) effectively and efficiently, 500 -- apply the elements of design, 500 -- demonstrate an understanding of hand-building techniques: measuring,cutting, and pasting, 500 -- apply the visual and emotional qualities of color, 500 -- exhibit effective presentation skills, 500 -- demonstrate an understanding of marketing, 500 -- follow a "creative process" in developing a concept (theme). 600 All students will: 600 600 -- be instructed on the creative process, 600 -- be instructed on the use of Illustrator and Photoshop software, 600 -- be instructed on the use of color in visual design, 600 -- be instructed on the elements and principles of art, 600 -- be instructed on cutting, measuring, and gluing techniques, 600 -- be exposed to examples of good visual design, 600 -- be introduced to careers in visual graphics and communication, 600 -- recieve feedback on their own artwork, 600 -- be involved in group discussions of their work, 600 -- be required to communicate ideas through writing, 600 -- be instructed on the effective presentation of their work to a group. 700 1.
