Introduction to CAD for Architectural drawings.
Introduction to drawing floor plans.
Design of a student-selected floor plan.
Development of window and door schedule.
Development of a foundation plan, based on the student's floor plan.

Students in Architectural CAD will develp the ability to:
-- Use the computer to produce an architectural drawing,
-- Use reference books to follow a professionally-drawn plan,
-- Use reference books and Internet to aid in the design of a student-designed plan,
-- Use reference books to produce a window and door schedule per manufacture's specs,
-- Use reference books to produce a foundation plan based on accepted building codes.

All students will:
--Use computer-aided drafting to produce an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Understand and be able to read an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Read and apply industry-standard reference books.

Effort/attitude/participation = 50% of grade
Assessed daily, recorded as a weekly grade
Assigned Drawing Projects = 50% of grade
Assessed for quality of workmanship and meeting scheduled deadlines
Students produce and print a practice floor plan.
Students produce and print a single-line and double-line floor plan of their own design.
Students produce and print a window and door schedule per industry standards.
Students produce and print a foundation plan for their house plan, per industry standards.

Field trip to a house currently under construction.
