Design of a kitchen floor plan, based on the student's floor plan.
Develop a kitchen elevation, based on the student's floor plan.
Design of a bathroom floor plan, based on the student's floor plan.
Selection of cabinets, fixtures and appliances based on standard models.

Student in Engineering CAD will develop the ability to:
-- Use the computer to produce an architectural drawing,
-- Use reference books to select standardized cabinets, fixtures and appliances,
-- Use reference books and Internet to aid in the design of a student-designed plan,
-- Produce a kitchen and bathroom plan, based on industry-standards, to integrate into the student's house plan.

All students will:
-- Use computer-aided drafting to produce an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Understand and be able to read an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Read and apply industry-standard reference books.

Effort/attitude/participation = 50% of grade
Assessed daily, recorded as a weekly grade
Assigned Drawing Projects = 50% of grade
Assessed for quality of workmanship and meeting scheduled deadlines
Students produce and print a kitchen floor plan.
Students produce and print a kitchen elevation view.
Students produce and print a bathroom floor plan.

Field trip to a house currently under construction.
Field trip to a kitchen/bath design center.
