Development of floor framing plan based on student floor plan.
Development of wall framing plan based on student floor plan.
Optional cross-section details, based on teacher evaluation.

Student in Engineering CAD will develop the ability to:
-- Use the computer to produce an architectural drawing,
-- Use reference books to follow a professionally-drawn plan,
-- Use reference books to determine proper framing techniques,
-- Use reference books for span data and to calculate loads.

All students will:
-- Use computer-aided drafting to produce an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Understand and be able to read an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Read and apply industry-standard reference books.

Effort/attitude/participation = 50% of grade
Assessed daily, recorded as a weekly grade
Assigned Drawing Projects = 50% of grade
Assessed for quality of workmanship and meeting scheduled deadlines
Students produce and print a floor framing plan.
Students produce and print a wall framing plan.

Field trip to a house currently under construction.
