Development of perspective view of completed building.
Final presentation of a portfolio package of all drawings.
Research paper describing an alternative construction technique.



Student in Engineering CAD will develop the ability to:
-- Use the computer to produce an architectural drawing,
-- Use reference books to follow a professionally-drawn plan,
-- Use reference books to develop a two-point persepective,
-- Develop visualization skills of a completed building,
-- Answer questions related to the design and development of the project,
-- Techniques of researching alternative construction.



All students will:
-- Use computer-aided drafting to produce an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Understand and be able to read an industry-standard architectural drawing,
-- Students will be able to read and apply industry-standard reference books.




Effort/attitude/participation = 50% of grade
Assessed daily, recorded as a weekly grade

Assigned Drawing Projects = 50% of grade
Assessed for quality of workmanship and meeting scheduled deadlines

Students will present all drawingas completed this semester in a portfolio package.
Students will print a rough draft of the research paper.
Students will print a finished copy of the research paper.



Field trip to a house currently under construction.
