Framing layout for 16" and 24" on center

Students in Building Construction will develop the ability to:
-- Work in and around a wood shop and construction site safely,
-- Work in the vicinity of machinery safely,
-- Work with a compound miter saw (chop saw) safely,
-- Work with a table saw safely,
-- Work with a band saw safely,
-- Work with a skill saw safely,
-- Work with a hand-held jig saw safely,
-- Make measurements with a ruler/tape measure accurately,
-- Layout building framing.

All students will:
-- Work safely in a woodshop and construction site safely in the vicinity of machinery,
-- Work safely with tools and machinery typically found in a woodshop and construction site
-- Make measurements with a ruler/tape measure accurately,
-- Layout building framing.

Effort/attitude/participation = 50% of grade
Assessed daily, recorded as a weekly grade
Assigned Drawing Projects = 50% of grade
Assessed for quality of workmanship
Shop safety will be observed everyday throughout the semester.
Safety with machinery will be observed everyday throughout the semester.
Accuracy with measurements will be observed with all projects.
Building layout will be tested by the student doing a hands-on demonstration.
Building layout will also be observed when the student does the layout for projects.
