1. How are points, lines, etc. entered into AutoCAD?
2. What is the "absolute" system for point entry?
3. What is the "rectangular" system for point entry?
4. What is the "polar" system for point entry?
5. What information is needed in a title box?
6. How is a title box drawn?
7. How are basic drawing tools used, including: Offset, trim, circles, arcs, fillet, chamfer?
8. How are physical objects drawn on the computer?

Assignment #1: Point Entry.
Draw lines using point entry procedures; absolute, rectangular, polar.
Assignment #2: Shapes and figures.
Draw a variety of objects, using 2-D computer drawing tools.
Assignment #3: Physical Objects.
Use measuring tools to draw physical objects..

Student in Engineering CAD will develop the ability to:
-- Use point entry techniques to draw the computer, including absolute, rectangular and polar,
-- Develop a customized title box,
-- Reproduce existing 2-D drawings,
-- Draw 2-D drawings based upon actual physical objects.

All students will:
-- Learn how to enter points and draw lines using point entry techniques,
-- Draw a customized title box,
-- Reproduce existing 2-D drawings,
-- Draw a physical object in 2-D

Effort/attitude/participation = 50% of grade
Assessed daily, recorded as a weekly grade
Assigned Drawing Projects = 50% of grade
Assessed for quality of workmanship and meeting scheduled deadlines
Students will complete a chart of the points needed for point entry for absolute, rectangular, polar.
Students will print completed drawings demonstrating correct use of point entry.
Students will print drawings demonstrating the reproduction of existing 2-D drawings.
Students will print drawings of selected physical objects.

Assignment sheets showing the drawing to be completed.

Use the computer for basic mechanical drawings,.
Correctly place text on a drawing.
