Who comprises a production staff and what are their individual jobs?

The unit on production staff is designed to teach the student about the many jobs that go on behind the scenes of a musical. The production staff includes: Producer, director, music director, choreographer, lighting director, stage manager, costume designer, publicist, make-up artist, stage crew.
The students will learn about each job and the role that each person plays in making a production happen.

In this unit, the student will:
*Describe the jobs of each member of the production staff
*Explain how each member of the production staff is important to the overall production

IN this unit, the students will be exposed to the job titles of the members of a production staff for a musical. The students will have the opportunity to research well known directors, musical directors, choreographers and producers.

Students will be assessed in the following manner:
*Test-short answer, compare and contrast
*Research paper/project on well known director, music director, producer or choreographer

If possible, bring in a guest speaker to the class that is a member of a production staff as a career.
