This is a skill that will continue to be developed over the course of the semester. Some students have a great deal of difficulty with this element of musicianship, others seem to breeze right through. The method of Moveable Do will be used to teach sight singing. 500 The student will: 500 *Aurally analyze melodies and notate them on the treble and bass staff. 500 *Aurally analyze rhythmic examples and notate them using correct musical notation 500 *Demonstrate and understanding of solfege by sight singing musical examples using moveable "Do". 600 Students will : 600 *Practice sight singing skills via the moveable Do system 600 *Practice melodic and rhythmic dictation 600 700 Students will be assessed via: 700 *sight singing quizzes 700 *Melodic and Rhythmic Dictation quizzes 700 *Class participation 700
