400 This is the final element of composition covered in this class.  Not all classes will get to this point.  Those classes that have a real grasp on musical structure and function will be able to move to this point.  The Neapolitan and Augmented Sixth chords are meant to add flavor to the compositions.  Students should be allowed to experiment with these types of chords in previously written compositions before attempting to write a new composition.  
500 The student will:
