What are the different sounds of a seventh chord?
How does a seventh chord function harmonically?
Students will learn about the structure, function and resolution of seventh chords built upon the second, fifth and seventh scale degrees.
The student will:
* Identify seventh chords built upon the second, fifth and seventh scale degree and determine their quality.
*demonstrate an understanding of how to correctly resolve a seventh chord
*Analyze seventh chords with in musical examples
*Compose harmonic progressions incorporating seventh chords.
*Visual identification of all types of seventh chords via written work and

*Written composition incorporating seventh chords with correct resolution.
