Students will:
1) Choose a focus band instrument
2) DemonstrateInstrument assembly and care
3) Demonstrate and practice correct emboucher(wind instruments)/stick grip(percussionists)
4) Demonstrate correct hand position
5) practice propper diaphragmatic breathing (wind instruments)
6) practice Propper Sticking(percussionists)
7) use correct fingerings(wind players)

Students will
Choose a focus band instrument
Write a paper about the history of that instrument and its evolution to become what it is today
gain basic proficiency on focus instrument
be constantly monitored on propper playing technique
have no less than 25 minutes of individual practice time on most days
recieve individual and group lessons several times throughout the week
be given weekly playing assignments on their "daily check-off sheet"
Write a summary of the life of a composer each week from "Meet the Composers" book

playing tests
observation of correct technique
discussion and peer observation of correct technique
