2) Students will know the common concert band, jazz band, and orchestral instruments
3) Students will choose and gain basic proficiency on a focus
4) Demonstrate and practice accurate note reading note reading both Verbally, Written, and on their focus instrument
5) Demonstrate and practice accurate rhythm reading both verbally, in written format, and through performance on their focus instrument
6) describe and perform basic dynamics as presented in their music
7) Discuss and demonstrate propper performance techniques on their focus instrument both during practice time and in a performance setting
8) create a Concert Ettiquate pamplet describing appropriate behavior, attire, etc. in a rock concert, a jazz concert, and a classical concert,

10) interpret and compose rhythms through TUBS (time-unit boxes) Notation
11) categorize world instruments based on the "classification system for world Instruments"
12) describe the history/evolution of their chosen focus instrument
13) demonstrate understanding and participation in drum circles
14) accurately compose basic rhythms "Call and Response" to be used during a drum circle
