01.2.2.0.1 -- Students will perform on pitch, in rhythm, with appropriate dynamics and timbre, and maintain a steady tempo

01.2.2.0.4 -- Students will echo short rhythms and melodic patterns

-Students will perform Major and chromaticScales independantly using appropriate All-State Patterns
-Students perform rhythmic patterns in 6/8, 12/8, 2/2, 5/4, 6/4 both with their instruments and clapping and counting aloud
-Students will define vocabulary and apply it to music being rehearsed and performed
-Students will respond to and discuss music using appropriate musical vocabulary




Students will rehearse scales at each ensemble rehearsal and on own
Students will practice rhythmic problem solving skills during ensemble rehearsals through clapping and counting aloud
Students will perform music with a variety of time signaures
Students will preactice using their musical vocabulary words on a daily basis when describing or responding to their own or others' playing



Students will be assessed on a regular basis through:
1) Regular scale playing tests
2) written tests focusing on music knowlege, vocabulary, etc.
3) Regular discussions about ensemble repitoire using intellegent musical vocabulary
