It offers 400 a more in-depth investigation into techniques and applications of 400 biotechnology. Students will also discuss ethical issues associated 400 with existing and emerging uses of biotechnology such as cloning, 400 DNA testing and genetic engineering. Students will gain hands 400 on experience with basic biotech techniques such as bacterial 400 transformation, DNA electrophoresis and protein purification. 400 Computer simulations will be used to experience more complex 400 techniques. Career opportunities in biotechnology will also be 400 explored. This is a required course in both the Health and 400 Bioscience and Environmental, Natural Resources and Agriculture 400 School to Career clusters. This course is offered on a contract 400 basis for ACP or SCP level. 400 Pre: Successful completion of Biology 400 Credit: 1 E/ACP/SCP Gr: 11, 12This unit introduces students to the business aspects of the Biotech industry.
