Going Green!

Welcome to Woodstock Academy's Art Department

The Visual Arts at Woodstock Academy

The Woodstock Academy Art Department offers a wide array of course offerings. All students are required to take Art 1 where they will explore a variety of media to create both 2-D and 3 –D pieces. The course also provides the students with the foundational skills, techniques, creative problem-solving strategies, and aesthetic background knowledge needed to be successful in advance offerings in the program.

After Art 1, students may pursue a study of two-dimensional art by enrolling in Drawing, Painting, Photography I, Photography II, Electronic Design I, Electronic Design II, Digital Drawing and Printmaking. Students wishing to explore three-dimensional art may enroll inSculpture, and Ceramics I and Ceramics II. WA’s most serious art students complete their art instruction by enrolling in Advanced Studio Art or AP Studio Art where they spend the semester compiling a portfolio of work and preparing this collection for submission to universities or to the AP College Board. An Art History course rounds out the offerings with another means of recognizing the cultural and historical roles played by artistic expression and providing students with the skills to understand and appreciate art on a life-time basis.
