Japanese Culture Club (JCC)
The mission of the Japanese Culture Club is to educate the Woodstock Academy community about the Japanese language and culture through lessons, guest speakers, and campus-wide activities. At each weekly meeting, the JCC will spend approximately half of time learning all parts of the Japanese language (reading and writing hiragana, katakana, and kanji, as well as the spoken language). The remaining time will be devoted to one particular topic of interest in the Japanese culture each week. Students will have opportunities to research cultural themes and report back to the groupduring this time. This is not an anime/manga club. Students should be aware that this club is for people with a serious interest in learning the Japanese language – there will be lessons, homework, and quizzes. All students are welcome.
