Bracken Library Learning

The Old Ely Ransom Hall Gymnasium seats 120 students comfortably.  The room is designed in three major parts, the mezzaine non-fiction collection, the main floor for reference and computer work, and the community room which houses the adult fiction, great authors, and childrens collections.

At Bracken Memorial Library, the balance between class room instructional time and individual student learning time is a hard one to maintain.  Scheduling of classes is done through the library staff and operates on a first come first serve basis. Students are able to use the library by obtaining a pass from the librarian before school begins each day.   This allows students the opportunity to use the library independently or to study.   However, classes take priority over individuals needs.

Computer resources for students and town patrons include 30 computers, all with Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint), high speed Internet access, and a wide array of research tools.   Students will find this to be a helpful place for completing projects and working on papers.
