What is SOS?

Student Outreach Services (SOS) is a volunteer program for students.

What is the goal of SOS?

The goal of SOS is to engage students in volunteer experiences that will help to make an impact on a local and/or global level.

What do SOS members do?

SOS members organize and participate in a variety of volunteer experiences such as providing campus tours, volunteering for various community events, running food drives and much more.

What are the expectations for members?

The expectations for SOS members are to attend meetings, assist with the organization of volunteer events and participate in volunteer opportunities. While many students are unable to stay for meetings due to transportation difficulties they are still welcome to be a part of the program. SOS keeps members up to date on upcoming events via email or they can check in the Mrs. Rice for information. In addition, SOS members are not expected to participate in all the volunteer opportunities that are offered but they are encouraged to get involved when they can. Members are expected to assist with all in school fundraising activities which take place during the lunch blocks.

How can students get involved?

To join SOS simply attend a meeting or contact Mrs. Rice in the Counseling Office. They are also announced in the daily bulletin. You can also email Mrs. Rice at arice@woodstockacademy.org. You can then be placed on the SOS email list and will receive information about upcoming events.
