    The Woodstock Academy and The Woodstock Academy Alumni Association formed The Woodstock Academy Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.  The Hall of Fame provides a forum to recognize those distinguished alumni, teams, coaches, athletic directors, and boosters/benefactors who exemplify the highest standards of The Woodstock Academy Athletics through their endeavors, accomplishments, and sportsmanship.

The Woodstock Academy alumni and the general public are invited to submit names for nomination to the Athletic Hall of Fame oversight council. The nomination form can be filled out by clicking HERE, or obtained through our Advancement and Development Office at (860) 928-6575; option 7.
  • Nomination Criteria:

    Nominations for The Woodstock Academy's Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame may be made in the following categories: Athletes, Coaches, Athletic Directors, Teams, and Boosters/Benefactors

    Athletes:

    • Individuals are eligible for nomination ten (10) years after their graduation from The Woodstock Academy
    • Nominees would have participated in a WA athletic program for a minimum of two (2) years
    • They would have distinguished themselves by their outstanding athletic participation, bringing honor and Centaur Pride to themselves and The Academy
    • While a WA athlete, they demonstrated great ability in one or more sports as evidenced by leadership roles, outstanding performance, and/or post season honors
    • Individuals will have served as examples of outstanding character, sportsmanship and citizenship at The Academy and in the wider community
    • Professional or collegiate athletic may also be considered

    Coaches:

    • Individuals are eligible for nomination if they have coached at The Woodstock Academy for a minimum of five (5) seasons in one sport and are at least five (5) years beyond their last season of coaching at WA
    • Ended employment with The Woodstock Academy in good standing
    • Brought distinction, honor, and Centaur pride to themselves, to their teams, and to The Academy as a role model and through successful athletic achievement
    • They would have made significant and substantial contributions to the athletic program at The Academy, serving as examples of outstanding character, sportsmanship and citizenship at The Academy and in the wider community
    • Professional or collegiate athletic activity may also be considered

    Athletic Directors:

    • Individuals are eligible for nomination who served as Athletic Director for The Woodstock Academy for at least five (5) years and be at least five (5) years beyond their employment at The Woodstock Academy
    • Nominees would have made significant and substantial contributions to the WA athletic program
    • Brought distinction, honor, and Centaur pride to themselves, to WA athletic teams, and to The Academy as a role model and through outstanding management of the WA athletic program
    • Demonstrated a dedication to the growth of WA athletes on and off the field and overall excellence of the program during their tenure as defined by: programs created, program advancement from club to varsity levels and within conference/league play, and winning seasons and championships achieved across the athletic department
    • Served as an example of outstanding character, sportsmanship and citizenship at The Academy and in the wider community
    • Professional or collegiate activity may also be considered

    Teams:

    • The majority of nominated team would have graduated from The Woodstock Academy and the youngest team member is at least five (5) years beyond graduation
    • As a team, they would have distinguished themselves by their outstanding athletic participation, bringing honor and Centaur pride to themselves an The Academy
    • The team would have served as an example of outstanding character, sportsmanship and citizenship at the Academy and in the wider community
    • The team would have achieved any combination of conference, division or state championship levels for at least two seasons

    Boosters and Benefactors:

    • Nominees would have made significant and substantial contributions of time, talent and/or financial support to the athletic program at The Woodstock Academy
    • They would have brought distinction, honor, and Centaur pride to The Academy and WA athletic programs through their contributions
    • Served as an example of outstanding character, sportsmanship, and citizenship at The Academy and in the wider community
