  • How many students attend The Woodstock Academy?

    Each year there are around 1,125 students enrolled at The Woodstock Academy in grades 9-12 and post-graduate program.

  • Where do the residential students live?

    Boarding students live on campus in the three large dorms: Westhaver, Annhurst, and Warren. They have access to the on-campus dining hall, outside track and turf field, gym, weight room, and several community spaces.

  • When is the application deadline?

    The application deadline is rolling, but it is best to have all applications for the fall semester in by March 1st and for the spring semester by December 1st.

  • When can my family visit The Woodstock Academy?

    The Woodstock Academy is open each school day Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  It is best to call the admissions office to assure that someone will be available to provide you with a tour and information:  (860) 928-6575; option 2

  • What is the town of Woodstock like?

    Set in rural New England in the quiet corner of Connecticut, The Woodstock Academy's North Campus is perched atop a hill with views overlooking the rolling hills of the town of Woodstock. Woodstock has many historic buildings and small-town businesses with local charm. Grocery stores, as well as cafes and coffee shops, can be found in nearby Putnam. The many forests in the area lend themselves to pleasant hikes and a trip to the beach is only an hour away. Day trips to the charming city of Boston, Massachusetts and the bustling city of New York, New York are definitely worthwhile.   • Can I attend The Woodstock Academy for less than 4 years?

    Absolutely! Because of our flexible semester schedule, students can attend for just one semester up to four full years. The post-graduate program offers an additional year. If a student wants to earn a diploma from The Woodstock Academy, he or she must have all of the graduation requirements fulfilled before graduation. If a student is only looking for a cultural experience, he or she may attend for a shorter time and no particular classes are required.

  • Is financial aid available?

  • What is the school day like?

    The school day begins at 7:28 a.m. and ends at 2:15 p.m.  At 2:15, athletics and after school activities begin. All students are encouraged to participate in these activities.  If a student needs to be on campus for activities or school-sponsored events after the day ends, the Bracken Memorial Library on North Campus and Centaur Lounge on South Campus are open until 5:30 p.m.

  • What is the dress code?

    There is no uniform at The Woodstock Academy. Students are asked to dress appropriately for school which excludes clothing that is offensive, violent, suggests drug or alcohol use, or shows undergarments.

  • What are the campuses like?

    The Woodstock Academy campuses have a mixture of historic and modern buildings, giving the classic academic atmosphere with the benefits of a 21st century education. The Academy has a library, 2 fully functioning student cafeterias, 2 gymnasiums, 2 auditoriums, stages, computer labs, art studios, high ropes course, athletic complex and much more.

    Over the years, students from all over the world have attended The Woodstock Academy. During the 2018-2019 school-year, there were 9 states and 19 countries represented on campus.
