    John Rigney

    John Rigney is the Assistant Head of School for the South Campus and has worked in the boarding school environment for the last twenty years. John and his wife Kirsten live on the South Campus with their four children Fiona (13), Owen (12), Abel (9), and Hazel (7). Along with two cats and their large fluffy Great Pyrenees (Greta the Great), the Rigney’s keep chickens and bees.  They love being active outdoors, keeping a garden, and being part of the campus community.  You can find the Rigney family at the southern end of campus in the corner yellow house. We enjoy and welcome visitors and are looking forward to continuing to build the community of The Woodstock Academy's South Campus.

    Carolyn is a Woodstock Academy alumna from the class of 2006 and serves as the Student Life Coordinator on South Campus.  This is her 6th year working with international and domestic boarding students, and she is both happy and proud to call #ResLifeWA her home and community.  She lives in Warren Hall on 3 North, with her two kitties and over 20 houseplants.  You can typically find her around campus or in her office, with a cup of coffee or tea in hand.  She is always happy to have a conversation if you’re feeling blue or just need someone to talk to (and she always has chocolate in her office!).  When she isn’t working with students or staff, she enjoys gardening, reading a good book, kayaking, and painting.

     

     

     

     


    Adam & Amanda Bottone

    Adam and Amanda Bottone are both alumni of Woodstock Academy and live on South Campus in Warren.  Adam has been teaching and coaching at WA for the past 16 years. They have three children, Liliana, Brayden and Gavin and three dogs.  They are an active family that likes to travel and participate in a variety of outdoor and athletic activities. This is their third year as dorm parents and they love to host activities in their home.  They enjoy getting to know students from many countries and look forward to meeting many new faces each year.

     Meet Jeremy Useted: dorm parent, substitute teacher, and 2003 graduate of Woodstock Academy. He is a friendly face on both North and South Campuses, and enjoys being part of the Quiet Corner community as a whole. Mr. Useted is an avid photographer and can be found on the sidelines of many Centaur athletic events, especially ice hockey and lacrosse. His hobbies include reading, writing, music, driving, hiking, rock climbing, and boating. Jeremy spends his summers at J.N. Webster Scout Reservation in Ashford, CT and is active in the local and regional Scouting movement. Mr. Useted frequently uses his Scouting skills on South Campus for campfires and s’mores.

    Chris & Jennifer Green
    Chris is a Campus Security Officer and JV lacrosse coach at the Woodstock Academy.  Jennifer works at Quinebaug Valley Community College.  Chris and Jen have two children: Emma, a recent graduate of The Woodstock Academy, who currently attends Central Connecticut State University;  and Tyler, a sophomore at The Woodstock Academy.   The Greens have one dog, Daisy Mae, and two cats, Oliver and Tiggy.  The Greens are really excited to be bigger part of The Woodstock Academy community.

     

     


    Amy & Chuck Couture

    Mrs. Amy Couture has been a member of the Math Department at The Woodstock Academy for the past ten years. Her husband, Chuck, is a Woodstock Academy alum and is working at Quinnipiac University.  You will see them around campus with her three daughters: Kylie, a junior in college; Jordan, a sophomore in college ; and Reagan, a senior at The Woodstock Academy. Her family also includes Christian Rivera, a college sophomore as well.  The family enjoys living on campus and expanding their role as a Woodstock family.  They also have two cat brothers - Jinx and Dash.

     

     


     Jacob Campbell

    Jacob is a Paraprofessional at The Woodstock Academy?s North Campus during the school year in addition to being a proud member of residential life for South Campus. His hobbies include singing and acting, and recently starred in The Eastern Connecticut Performing Arts Association?s production of ?Rent?. He is a former member and music director for UConn?s all male a cappella group: The Conn-Men. Jacob is also a 2016 graduate of the academy, and is excited to return as a staff member to give back to the community that got him to where he is today.

     This is my 2nd year at WA teaching Health and PE. I was previously at Killingly HS for 19 years where I coached Baseball and Girl's Volleyball for 16 years and Boys Tennis for 3 years. I have also been an Adjunct faculty member at E.C.S.U. for the past 8 years. I am currently living behind the Head of School's house with my wife Christina, daughter Chloe (10), and son Mattingly (7). We have all enjoyed the move to Woodstock and we are currently looking to buy our forever house here. I enjoy watching and playing all sports especially table tennis and look forward to meeting and working with the Res-life staff and students.

     

     


    Caitlin Alger

    Caitlin is a Fine Arts Teacher at The Woodstock Academy. She has been teaching here for a year and just moved on campus! She lived in Maine for a decade for college and then teaching art before moving back to her hometown in Connecticut last year. She loves creating in all art forms including drawing, painting, digital media and pottery. She also loves hiking, climbing, and riding her bicycle. One summer she rode her bike across the entire United States! 


     

    Ryker Pawloski & Samantha Boshoff

    "Hi! We are Ryker, Samantha, James and Luna! Ryker is a 2005 Alumni of the Woodstock Academy and served in the United States Marine Corps. He currently works as a Machinist and is pursuing a bachelors in East Asian Studies which he began overseas while living in Okinawa, Japan. You will find him most days enjoying the outdoors with his family, playing video games or playing his guitar. Samantha is a North Carolina native, Computer Science graduate of the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. You will find her outside with the family, walking Luna or playing video games. James is a 4th grader who absolutely loves anything technology or Minecraft oriented! Luna is our 2-year-old rescue Australian Shepherd who LOVES treats and running. If you see us around campus, make sure to come say “Hi!”, we can’t wait to meet you!"

    Chris & Jess Dunn

    Chris Dunn has worked at The Woodstock Academy for many years as a Maintenance Technician and his wife Jess works at the University of Connecticut. Chris and Jess are both alumni of The Woodstock Academy, and are very excited to join the ResLife community! They have one son, Cameron, who is a year and a half old and loves to play with others. The Dunn family enjoys being outside, playing and watching sports, hanging at the lake, going for walks, traveling, and cooking together.

    Hello! My name is Ms. Labrecque, and I am a new teacher here at the academy. I recently graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University where I played soccer and received my teaching degree. I enjoy going to the beach and warm weather. My favorite sport teams are the New England Patriots and the US Woman’s national Soccer team. A fun fact about me is I was at the game when the Red Sox won the world series in 2013! So excited to meet you all!


    Sean & Bobbie-Jo Saucier

    Sean Saucier is the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at The Woodstock Academy. His wife, Bobbie-Jo Saucier, is the Director of Health Services. They have both been involved in the boarding school community for the last thirteen years. They live on the South campus with their two children Braiden (12) and Kaylee (9). They also have a cat and a beautiful German Shepherd dog named Hannah. You may find Hannah occasionally wandering off onto the soccer fields, but don’t be afraid. She is a friendly, affectionate dog that loves to play fetch.  The Saucier family loves spending their free time at their lake house swimming, boating, tubing/waterskiing, and fishing in the summer. They are a “sports” family and are often found bringing their kids to soccer, basketball, lacrosse, football, or an occasional round of golf.  The Saucier family lives at the southern end of campus in the front yellow house.  They welcome visitors and Mrs. Saucier is great at baking cookies and other treats for students to enjoy.  They look forward to joining The Woodstock Academy community and bringing a family feel to the community.


    Josh & Ashley Welch

    Josh and his wife Ashley have lived on this campus for nine years and are making the transition to The Woodstock Academy.  They have two little boys, Jaxon who is six, and Weyland who is two.  They love living on a boarding campus around all of the "big kids."  The Welch’s have two dogs Rubble and Koda, and a cat named Phoenix.  Josh is a physics teacher, and loves to talk about science, technology, and society.  Josh is also a musician and has played almost every kind of music you can think of at some point or another.  Playing live music is something he hopes to continue throughout his life.  Josh also loves to cook and learn about different kinds of food.  Some of his most memorable meals have been cooked in his apartment with students from all over the world.  Jaxon loves karate, riding his bike, and going fishing.  Mrs. Welch loves to spearfish and spend time at the beach. They are looking forward to sharing the campus with all of you!


    Denzel Washington

    Denzel is originally from Springfield, Massachusetts and has three brothers. Denzel graduated from high school in 2011 and then attended Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA where he earned his Associate’s Degree in liberal arts. He then transferred to Fitchburg State University where he achieved his Bachelor's degree in Physiological Science with a minor in History, graduating in 2017. While attending Fitchburg, Denzel was a student assistant for the men's basketball team. His birthday is November 25th, his favorite color is blue, his favorite number is three, and he loves the ocean. Denzel has enjoyed being a part of the Woodstock family!  #CentaurNation


    Tom Young & Drew Goins

    We are Mr. Tom Young and Mr. Drew Goins.  Mr. Young is a teacher here at the Academy as well as the Esports coach.  Mr. Young is a knitting enthusiast and is always willing to teach his craft to others.  Mr. Goins is a mental health clinician at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.  Mr. Goins is a very big Disney nerd and welcomes anyone to challenge his knowledge on the company.  We both enjoy video games, Overwatch anyone?  We also enjoy having board game nights. We have a cat named Fibonacci who loves attention. Mr. Young has a daughter, Eevee, who you might see around campus every now and then.  We are both very excited for the new school year and being a more active part of Res Life.

    Cherra, Ms. Nester, Callie, Eva and their dog Ellie live in 3 East in Warren.  Ms. Nester is a Family Consumer Science, P.E. & Health teacher at Woodstock Academy.  Cherra is a fire fighter in Johnston, RI.  Their daughters Callie & Eva love to hang out with all the dorm students!  The Nester-Wheeler's love to host students in our apartment for weekend breakfasts and wing dinners!  


    Brendan and Nicole Ostaszewski

    Coach O and Mrs. O live in West Haver in the cire apartment. Coach O is the Director of Strength and Conditioning. He loves watching all sports and you can find him in the gym at any time! Mrs. O is the Assistant Director of Residential life and the social media liaison, This is her 3rd year at the Academy.  She loves all sports but she especially loves volleyball and played all throughout college. Her favorite authors are Jodi Picoult and Paula Hawkins. They have a puppy named Max who you will see around campus but don't be afraid he's super sweet! They are also expecting their first child in October!

    The B’s moved to South Campus in November of 2017.  Doc B graduated from The Academy in 2009 and went on to earn a Bachelors and Doctoral degree from the University of Connecticut.  She works as a Physical Therapist in the Sports Medicine department at Westview Healthcare Center in Dayville, CT. Mrs. B is a transplant from Maine where she earned a bachelors degree in Human Resources Management from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.  Mrs. B has worked in Residential Life in some capacity since 2011 and is so excited to continue working in Residential Life at The Academy! The B’s have a dog, Piper and a cat named Finnegan. Doc & Mrs. B love camping, spending time at the lake, and cooking!

    My name is Trent Peters and I am the Student Activities / Assistant Athletic Director. I am also a Woodstock Academy alumni (2014)! I played soccer and basketball while I attended Woodstock, and even won a basketball state championship during my junior season. I studied Sport Management and Business Administration at Eastern Connecticut State University and graduated in May of 2018. I enjoy playing sports, being outside, and attending Red Sox games as frequently as possible! I have grown up and been around WA my entire life and happy to be apart of the ResLife Program.

     


    Todd Blodgett

    Todd is a 2011 graduate of Woodstock Academy and has been a Woodstock resident for 20 years. His 3 siblings (Sam, Harley and Luke) are all graduates of Woodstock Academy and his family has lived in Woodstock for over 22 years. Todd played Soccer, Basketball and Lacrosse at the Academy and has previously coached with the basketball teams at Woodstock Academy. He currently works at the University of Connecticut in the Office of Early College Programs. Todd lives in the upperclassman boys dorm in Westhaver.

    Luke Blodgett is a senior at the University of Connecticut who graduated Woodstock Academy in 2015. Luke is majoring in graphic design and enjoys spending his free time doing outdoor activities.

    We are the Tosetti Family. We are silly, we are fun! We have 3 children Jayden 15, Carter 12 and Jaxon 7. We also have little dogs, two cats and a Guinea Pig named Koji!! Interesting fact about our family is we are mostly vegetarian!

    Katie Burns & Jarice Manson

     The Burns-Manson family is excited to be starting our second year living on campus.  Ms. Burns will be starting her 10th year as an English teacher here at the Academy this fall.  Jarice is the Academy Director for Sporting CT, a soccer club in Middletown, and is starting his first season as the assistant coach for the Eastern Connecticut State University’s women’s soccer team.  Andrew is an energetic five year old who enjoys trucks, Legos, and sea turtles.  We also have a 12 year old golden retriever, Ben, who loves napping and being pet.  We live on the first floor of Warren.  Stop by and say hi!

    Yeantying "Helen" Liaw

    大家好!My name is Yeantying (Helen) Liaw. Students call me “Liaw Laoshi” in Mandarin, which means “Teacher Liaw”. I was born in Taiwan and acquired my undergraduate degree at Northeastern Illinois University. I received my master degree in Education at The University of New Haven in 2014 and have been working as a Mandarin teacher at The Woodstock Academy since then.  I teach students who have no or minimal previous background in spoken or written Mandarin.  I also assist our WA staff to communicate with Mandarin-speaking students and/or their parents who have difficulty communicating proficiently in English. I travel and attend meetings in China during the summer to assist with any communication needs and interpret between WA administration and Mandarin-speaking students and/or parents. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please let me know!

    I am a graduate of Siena College and the University of Connecticut graduate school. I have my Master’s degree in Education and I am a certified English teacher in the state of CT. 
     
    I love all things Boston sports, and in my down time I like to read, watch TV and movies, and play video games.

    This is my first year at Woodstock Academy. Excited to be a part of the Res Life Staff at WA and an Assistant Coach for the Post Grad Basketball Program. I recently moved from Charleston, South Carolina. I’m a licensed Physical Education teacher, and a graduate of the College of Charleston. Originally, I’m from Boston, Massachusetts. I love all sports, the beach, and traveling. 

     


    Eric Chalupka

    Eric is the Director of the Loos Center for the Arts here at The Woodstock Academy. Besides living on campus, Eric is in charge of all productions and many events on campus, like the ones in the Loos Center for the Arts. Outside of work, Eric is a student at QVCC, and is on the Board of Directors for the Bradley Playhouse in Putnam, the Three C's, and the Performing Arts of New England. Eric looks forward to all the fun productions he'll be able to work on with students at The Academy!
