    Centaurs fall in tournament semifinal

The Tri-Town cooperative jumped on top quickly and never let up in the Nutmeg Conference tournament semifinal game at the Enfield Twin Rinks.

Tri-Town jumped out on top 5-1 by the middle of the second period and extended that to 8-3 by the end of the period.

Matt Odom scored two goals in the loss for the Centaurs (8-12).

Jake Starr and Avery Riva also tallied.

Centaurs fall in regular season finale

The Bucks of E.O. Smith - Tolland scored two goals in the second period and it was enough to carry them past the Centaurs at the Jahn Ice Rink on Monday night, 3-1.

The Academy did counter the two goals by the visitors with one by Guerin Favreau.

E.O. Smith-Tolland added a little insurance late with an empty-netter in the third period.

The Centaurs finish the regular season with an 8-11 record.

The Centaurs play Tri-Town today at 2:50 p.m. at the Enfield Twin Rinks in a Nutmeg Conference semifinal game.

The Academy has lost twice to Tri-Town this season, 5-4 in overtime at home and 6-5 in overtime on the road.

    Long ride is worth it

The Centaurs had a bit of a trek to Salisbury to play on Friday night.

At least, they didn't come home empty-handed.

The Academy downed the Housatonic-Northwestern-Wamogo cooperative, 5-3, at the Hotchkiss School.

The win raised the Centaurs record to 8-10.

Jake Starr had what proved to be the game winner in the third period for the Centaurs while Avery Riva added the insurance goal, his second of the game, later in the period.

Matt Odom opened the scoring for The Academy in the first period, but the Centaurs found themselves down, 2-1.

Goals by Guerin Favreau and Riva in the second period put the Centaurs on top going into the final period.

Dylan Shea made 20 saves in the win.

The Centaurs conclude the regular season with a game at 6 p.m. Monday night vs. E.O. Smith-Tolland at the Jahn Ice Rink.
