  • Centaurs fall in season finale

The Centaurs traveled to Cromwell for their final game of the season and fell to the East Catholic-Glastonbury-South Windsor cooperative program, 6-5.

The loss ended the Centaurs season at 8-7-1.

Eliza Dutson scored twice for The Academy.

Ellie Jellison and Bridget Horst both added goals and an assist and Emma Ciquera also scored.

Centaurs skate to 4-4 tie in Pomfret

Hannah Clark, Emma Strandson and Abby Kruger scored their first goals of the season and Daisy Aochen added her first point in a 4-4 tie for the Centaurs with the Pomfret School JV program.

It was the first game of the year that ended in a tie for The Academy (8-6-1).

Emma Ciquera also scored for the Centaurs while Kaily Lachapelle played well in goal.

    Centaurs post eighth win

A power-play goal by Bridget Horst late in the third period lifted the Centaurs girls hockey team to a 7-6 win over Auburn, Mass. on Tuesday.

Sydney Cournoyer (two assists) and Ellie Jellison assisted on the game-winning goal.

The lead held up thanks to a right-pad save by goalie Kailey LaChappelle who was forced into service with less than three minutes to play when Marie Gravier went to the sidelines, bothered by a hamstring strain she had suffered in a win over Tabor Academy.

The win avenged a loss suffered by the Centaurs (8-6) in the first game of the season to Auburn, 4-2.

The Rockets took the lead again early, scoring the first two goals of the game.

The two teams exchanged goals through the remainder of the period with Kileigh Gagnon putting the Centaurs on the board with help from Brittnie Burnham (two assists) and Lily Wilcox.

Eliza Dutson (two assists) scored the next two for the Centaurs who still trailed, 4-3, at the end of the first period.

The Academy forged into the lead in the second period.

Wilcox and Jellison (2 goals, 3 assists) both scored to give the Centaurs the 5-4 advantage.

Jellison scored early in the third period to give the Centaurs a two-goal advantage, but saw Auburn tie it up, setting the stage for Horst (three assists) to score the game winner.
