2023 Spring Sports Awards Night
It is generally the last event on the athletic calendar at The Woodstock Academy.
The Spring Sports Awards Night was held recently at the Loos Center for the Arts on the South Campus of the school.
There was only one student-athlete who received Class L All-State honors this past spring and that was sophomore Brady Ericson in baseball.
Ericson finished 6-0 on the mound for the Centaurs, giving up just four earned runs in 39 2/3 innings for an incredible earned run average of 0.70. He finished with 76 strikeouts and just 19 walks.
The sophomore also was second on the team in batting average with a .343 mark. He hit a team-best three homers and also led the Centaurs in runs batted in with 19.
The night also saw Eastern Connecticut Conference All-Star, honorable mention, Scholar-Athlete and Sportsmanship Awards being recognized.
The finale is the Coach’s Awards given out by the individual program’s coaching staffs to deserving student-athletes.
There are two special awards given out for the evening.
The team grade point average award went to the girls track and field team while the girls softball team was declared by Woodstock Academy associate head of school Holly Singleton to be the best-dressed team in attendance.
