Jordyn

Connecticut
2020

While at The Academy, there was a good chance you could find Jordyn in an art studio working on a creative project or helping as a peer tutor. His artwork decorates the halls of The Academy campus and he was named WA’s 2020 Artist of the Year. "The art department has allowed me to grow as an artist and the school has prepared me for a creative future outside WA," he shared. As a part of this preparation, he co-curated a show of student artwork in The Gallery in the Loos Center for the Arts.

While Jordyn's focus was art, he also appreciated classes and activities that allowed him to explore math and science and to give back to the community. Jordyn was an active participant in EarthSave, Arts Outreach, National Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society, as well as the School Climate Activists, a group that encourages a welcoming school environment.

Jordyn plans to study illustration and painting at the University of Harford, but he knows he will maintain curiosity in biology as well.
