Julia '20

The "welcoming people and numerous amazing opportunities," were what Julia named as defining characteristics of her time at The Woodstock Academy. It is here where she met some of her closest friends. As a junior, Julia took International Relations where she "was immediately submerged into a world of knowledge and high-level debate." Then as a senior, Julia served as one of three head delegates on The Academy's nationally ranked Model United Nations team. Which, Julia said, helped her "foster a skill in public speaking and build confidence, but also expanded my awareness of social issues around the world."

She was able to experience first-hand the challenges of alleviating food insecurity at the local level as the student coordinator for the Caring Continues food program run by FRESH, a student-run non-profit at The Woodstock Academy. Julia learned more about teamwork and advocacy as she played lacrosse, served a member of the senior class council, and raised environmental consciousness with the EarthSave club.

Julia plans to study international affairs and biology.
