Family Advisory Council

Family Advisory Council (FAC) will be a new committee established to facilitate communication between The Woodstock Academy and families. FAC will meet on three dates this year (November 2, February 1, and April 5 at 6 p.m.). The focus of this group will be to share information with parents and guardians as well as to seek input on a variety of topics. If you are interested in participating, please respond to this survey. 

Homecoming

The Woodstock Academy 2022 Homecoming is September 23 & 24! We have a weekend full of activities and we invite you to join us to connect with your fellow Centaurs and show off your WA pride. Take a look at some of the planned events below!

Homecoming Dance
On Saturday, September 24 from 7-10 p.m., all WA students are invited to attend the homecoming dance at the South Campus Gymnasium! There will be a DJ and light refreshments. Tickets are on sale now until September 20 for $20 each, and the link to purchase can be found here, in student emails, and on flyers posted around campus. There are 550 tickets available. Please note that any non-WA students wishing to attend must be approved by Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Ten Eyck, or Mr. Rich before purchasing a ticket.

Counseling Newsletter for Seniors

FAFSA & Financial Aid
Please review this College Application & Financial Aid video at your convenience. This video replaces the evening program that was originally scheduled for September 20. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s counselor. 

It is very important that seniors fill out the FAFSA Application beginning October 1.

SAT
As seniors will not be taking the SAT during the test day on October 12, they can sign up for the October 1 or November 5 test date through CollegeBoard.

Instead of the SAT on October 12, we will have the following voluntary programming available: 

• Bus trip to QVCC
• Bus trip to UConn
• Bus trip to ECSU
• Volunteer Opportunity at the Arboretum: 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
• College Application Bootcamp: 12:30 - 2:15 p.m.

UConn ECE
Course registration for UConn ECE is ongoing. Students should be actively registering for fall and spring courses. The deadline to register is October 6.

ASVAB
The will be offered at The Academy on October 18 at 8:00 a.m. The ASVAB is required for those who plan to join the military. Representatives from the military will also be visiting WA throughout the school year, and students can sign up through their email. College Rep Visits
The colleges listed below will be visiting WA this fall. Often the rep they meet with plays a significant role in their admission decision. It is also a great way to find out more about the college. Students must sign up in advance through Naviance.
