ECC Championship: Centaurs finish 4th at Thames Valley Gymnastics

Sooner or later, it was bound to happen.

The Woodstock Academy streak of 13 consecutive Eastern Connecticut Conference championships came to an end on Sunday as the Centaurs placed fourth at Thames Valley Gymnastics in Norwich.

The Centaurs finished with a 130.95 total.

The East Lyme Co-Op walked away with the championship with a 140.25 score.

Injuries and small numbers combined to thwart the Centaurs this season.

Woodstock Academy, on Sunday, was again without defending ECC champion, Olivia Aleman, who missed most of the season with an injury.

Livia Gerum paced Woodstock Academy with a 33.7 All-Around performance; Emma Long contributed a 32.55.

Long was also named as the Centaurs' ECC Scholar-Athlete with Gerum getting the nod for the ECC Sportsmanship Award.
