Meets 5 & 6: WA improves to 5-1 with 2 wins at ABC Gymnastics
Three meets in five days.
No problem for the Woodstock Academy gymnastics team.
The Centaurs had to leave school early for a trip down to the shoreline for a 2 p.m. meet against the East Lyme Co-Op and Old Lyme at ABC Gymnastics.
Woodstock Academy brought back a 5-1 record as they downed Old Lyme 133.25-113.9.
The Centaurs (5-1 overall, 4-1 in the Eastern Connecticut Conference) also downed the Vikings who had only three gymnasts and finished with a 78.3 total.
Woodstock Academy sophomore Olivia Aleman finished second in the All-Around as her 36.85 total was just shy of Old Lyme's Emily Looney who finished with a 137.3.
Aleman had a nice day on bars with a 9.55 total for a first-place finish.
She was also second in the floor exercise (9.2), was third in vault (9.0) and was solid on beam (9.1).
Centaurs freshman Julia Kerr had two third-place finishes in the beam (9.3) and floor (9.0).
