Closing Dorms & eLearning for Residential Students

Posted by Communications on 3/17/2020 10:30:00 AM

Dear Families of Residential Students,

I hope this letter finds you and your family safe. At The Academy, we take student safety as our number one priority.

The Woodstock Academy has transitioned to online learning this week. All indications we are getting from the government are that we will most likely not re-open this year. And, if we do, it will only be for a few days in June. Based on this new reality, we have made the difficult decision to close the dorms effective April 9, 2020.

This will require that students return home or find families and/or friends to stay with in the United States. We know that this will not be easy and we will be providing a lot of support over the next three weeks as we prepare for the students' departures. Over this past weekend and through this upcoming week, many students have already returned or have tickets to return home.

As the safety of our students is our number one priority, our staff is working with each student individually to make sure they return safely. All learning will continue online so no student will lose credit and they will be ready to return to The Academy or attend university.

If you have specific questions or concerns please contact Assistant Head of School Amy Favreau
(afavreau@woodstockacademy.org).

I hope you and your family remain safe and healthy during this time of crisis.

In partnership,
Christopher Sandford
Head of School
